Develop A Prayer Cell
In our last Leadership Community gathering, Barbara and Jane provided great insight and practical advice on how to create prayer cells to cover our various ministry areas. Their practical guidance was right down to helping us have these prayer cells in place before our next Leadership Community gathering on September 20.
Following are the notes from their talk.
Assignment: Develop team prayer cells for each ministry area.
How do we do this? Here are things to consider, pray through, and seek discernment on as you develop your prayer cell:
The purpose of your prayer cell.
Are they to pray individually, corporately, or both?
How often should they pray?
What will be the focus of their prayer?
How will you communicate with them?
Will you have a prayer cell group leader?
How many will be in your prayer cell?
Ask God to give you possible names of members for your prayer cell.
Pray over those names and list those that God calls you to contact.
Prayerfully decide who of your ministry team will contact these individuals.
HOW TO INVITE AND ESTABLISH PRAYER CELL TEAM MEMBERS:
Contact each person face to face.
Explain the purpose of the prayer cell.
Explain the expectations of the prayer cell.
Ask them to pray about God’s will concerning their team membership.
Give them a date when you will expect their decision.
Contact them on the agreed upon date.
Receive their answer.
Pray with them regardless of their answer.
Bring replies to our September 20th Leadership Community gathering.
